About VentureKit
VentureKit publishes free guides to help entrepreneurs get things done.
As a founder, I’ve felt how hard it is to find quality, actionable startup advice. What’s available today is often too abstract – “bumper sticker wisdom” – or too focused on motivation.
I want to provide free, actionable advice from domain experts on how to execute in startups. It’s a hard goal but I think it’s an important one.
About Me
My name is Mark Goldenson and I live in Silicon Valley. I’ve started a few companies, currently lead a product team at Google, and love investing and advising in startups.
I most recently founded Breakthrough, an online therapy service that signed over 30 health insurers and covered 10 million people before being acquired. I also co-founded:
-
PlayCafe, an online game show network
-
Woosh, a builder of small business websites acquired by HP
-
Stanford Bazaar, a campus marketplace acquired by Stanford
-
The Stanford Squash team, now coached by former world champion Mark Talbott
I worked as a product manager at PayPal, researched lucid dreaming in the Stanford Psychophysiology Lab, and finished coursework for a bachelor’s in human biology from Stanford (and dropped out twice for startups :)).
